Today, Represent Him!
Luke 12:8-12 – “I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God. But whoever disowns me before others will be disowned before the angels of God. And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. When you are brought before synagogues, rulers and authorities, do not worry about how you will defend yourselves or what you will say, for the Holy Spirit will teach you at that time what you should say.”
Every Christian is called to be an ambassador of Christ. That is no mean designation. A lot of responsibility (and benefit) is packed into this! It’s a shame therefore that many of God’s children are intimidated by society, and do not boldly represent the One they call Lord. Representing Him of course entails seeking to win others to Him. As Pastor John Piper puts it,
The courage to go, the audacity to make disciples for Jesus from followers of other lords and other religions… are all based on the rock solid foundation of the words — and the reality — “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Go out there today and represent Him. You are backed by authority beyond any other. No excuses! We cannot afford to live just for ourselves, pursuing our own agenda. He died for us; let’s live for him.
And He died for all, so that they who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him who died and rose again on their behalf. (2 Cor. 5:15)
